The Alliance Française Grand Prize (Prix de l'Alliance Française) offered by the Alliance Française in the United States and its partners, Air France Skyteam, Hachette Fle, FIAP Jean Monnet and Alliance Française de Paris, to one winner of the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF) National French Contest.

1) Eligibility of candidates submitting their entry to The Alliance Française Grand Prize.

To enter the drawing for The Alliance Française Grand Prize, you must participate in the AATF “Grand Concours”, and therefore comply with all the eligibility rules set by the AATF National Committee. Only contestants enrolled in French levels 3, 4 or 5 and belonging to divisions A, D, and E are eligible to enter The Alliance Française Grand Prize. This entry form must be signed by a parent or legal custodian at the time of your participation in the “Grand Concours”.

2) Conditions applying to the drawing for The Alliance Française Grand Prize.

The pool of contestants considered in the drawing is  constituted of national winners in Le Grand Concours 2008 of AATF, enrolled in French Level 3, 4 or 5, divisions A, D, or E only. The random drawing will be administered by members of the AATF “Grand Concours” National Committee in mid-April 2008.

3) Conditions applying to the acceptance of The Alliance Française Grand Prize.

The Alliance Française Grand Prize consists of a 1-week linguistic stay in Paris, including free accommodation provided for the winner and one parent or legal custodian by the FIAP Jean Monnet, a free one-week enrollment in French classes at the Alliance Française de Paris for the winner, a total of 2 free roundtrip tickets from an Air France gateway in the United States to Paris, France for the winner and one parent or legal custodian, and 125 French books offered by Hachette Fle to the winner’s school.

Air France gift consists in non transferable round-trip transportation for two passengers in Air France Tempo (Economy Class) USA-Europe-USA. These tickets are valid on Air France operated flights only on the above-mentioned routing for departures beginning April 1, 2008 through March 31, 2009 from any Air France’s US gateway. All travel must be completed by March 30, 2009. Both tickets must be used on the same flight and same day. Booking restrictions apply and due to the capacity controlled seating, flexibility of travel dates may be necessary. This is especially true during the busy travel season from mid-June through early September, and in holiday seasons (Christmas and New Years, Easter, Passover, etc.). Air France is not responsible for the winners’ travel arrangements between his or her residence to the nearest Air France’s gateway. Reservations may only be made through the office. The original of the prize letter is to be returned to Air France at the time the reservation is made, and prior to ticket issuance. Please note that the prize letter may be redeemed for transportation only by the official prize-winners and may not be sold, bartered, exchanged or purchased. Lost, stolen or destroyed prize letters will not be replaced.The tickets will be issued approximately ten days before departure. The winners are responsible for the payment of any fuel surcharges as well as for any government imposed fees and taxes in effect at the same time of ticket issuance. Once the tickets are issued, under no circumstances, they can be changed, transferred, refunded, rerouted, or endorsed and the validity may not be extended. The tickets cannot be applied towards any frequent flyer account.  The tickets are valid for three months from the outbound date of travel.

Free one-week enrollment to classes at the Alliance Française de Paris for 1 person and free one-week lodging at FIAP Jean Monnet for 2 people are subject to limitations based on dates and space available. Books and other audiovisual resources donated by Hachette FLE are at the sole discretion of Hachette FLE, which selects the 125 items constituting the donation.

4) The Alliance Française in the United States and the American Association of Teachers of French reserve the right to change the terms and conditions of The Alliance Française Grand Prize at any time and for any reason.

5) Liability.

All contestants must abide by articles 1) 2) 3) 4) and 5) of the regulations in order to qualify for The Alliance Française Grand Prize. The organizers of the AATF “Grand Concours” and “Alliance Française Grand Prize” cannot be held responsible for any damage or injury incurred at the time of the contest, at the time of the awards or during the trip and the stay abroad, including that arising in whole or in part from the negligence of the organizers. Acceptance of the invitation to enter the drawing and/or of the award(s) shall be deemed to be consent by the contestant and the parent(s) or custodian to these conditions.
